SLM Copenhagen turns 50 this year. In the coming years, similar anniversaries await our brother clubs in Sweden, Norway, and Finland.
With 50 years under our belt, is it relevant to go deeper into whether the fetish community in Scandinavia has gained the place in our LGBT+ community that our size and history speak for?
Right from the beginning, when it was an underground environment, to today, where we are clubs with lots of members and our own locations? In our story of fetish in Scandinavia, it's hard to ignore Tom of Finland. The drawings have in many ways been the image of fetish both here and abroad and today appear almost ordinary. We see them on official stamps in Finland and in the rest of the Nordic region, fetish has become a visible part of the fashion scene.
Does that make us too ordinary? Are we losing the underground environment? Does it provide new opportunities for our environment? The fetish scene is moving fast these years. Where are we going? What are our challenges? Where are we going? Is it still relevant to have SLM clubs in Denmark and the rest of the Nordic region, where we cultivate camaraderie and fetish together in a SoMe time?
