Regulations of the Mister Leather Europe contest 2011
Organiser and dates
The Mister Leather Europe 2011 Contest is organised by SLM Copenhagen on behalf of the European Confederation of Motorcycle Clubs (ECMC) and will be held in Copenhagen during the weekend of the ECMC AGM 2011, i.e. on Saturday 1 October 2011, in one single night. However, the official contestants will be presented the night before, Friday 30 September 2011, during the Welcome Party of the ECMC AGM 2011, so their presence is required on both nights.
Participation in the contest is restricted to male candidates who meet one of the following conditions
- The candidate is the titleholder of a contest organised by an ECMC club
- The candidate is the titleholder of a contest organised by a club that is not yet a full member of the ECMC (would-be applicant, applicant or provisional member)
- The candidate is the titleholder of a contest organised by a recognised and ECMC-friendly European leather business
A club, organisation or business may submit a maximum of one candidate.
To take part in the contest, each contestant must send:
- a completed application form
- an official picture (for publication on the ECMC AGM 2011 website)
The application must be received by 31 August 2011 via the online registration form here.
Applications received after 31 August 2011 will be accepted at the sole discretion of SLM Copenhagen.
Participation in the contest is free of charge. However, the contestant must bear the costs of his participation in other events organised during the weekend and the costs of his accommodation.
The contestant will be requested to give a short interview on stage (in English and in full fetish outfit) and to present a short live performance no more than three minutes long. Sexually explicit performances or performances not recalling safe sex practices will not be allowed.
The winner, the second place and the third place will be determined by votes by:
- The audience
- A pre-selected jury
The votes of the audience and the jury respectively each have equal weight, i.e. 50 % each.
Each member of the audience will receive two voting tickets. One ticket has a value of one point and the other has a value of two points. You vote by placing one or both of your voting tickets into the container that represents the contestant(s) you want to vote for. You can vote for two candidates as first and second choice by putting the ticket with two points into the container for your first choice candidate, and the ticket for one point into the container for your second choice candidate. You can also put both tickets into the same box and thus give three points to one candidate.
The sum of the votes by the audience will be converted into a ranking of the contestants where the one with the most votes receives X points (X being the number of participants).
The jury will be composed of one jury member from each club, organisation or business sponsoring a contestant. Each judge may vote for any contestant except for the one sponsored by his own club, organisation or business.
Each member of the jury will receive a voting card with the contestants listed. The possible votes will range from 1 to 10. Each number may only be used once. The sum of the votes by the jury will be converted into a ranking of the contestants where the one with the most votes receives X points (X being the number of participants).
The points from the audience’s ranking will be added to the points from the jury’s ranking. The contestant with the most points will be the winner.
In case of a tie, the contestant the jury has given the most points to will be the winner.
For the first, second and third places a medal will be presented by SLM Copenhagen.
The winner's duties and rights
The winner is requested to represent his title in any official ECMC event – upon request of hosting clubs – until the next MLE contest. Travelling expenses will be partially or totally covered by the clubs hosting the events or by the club sponsoring the titleholder or possibly by the ECMC according to specific agreements. All these arrangements must be agreed beforehand between the inviting club and the titleholder, or where relevant with the ECMC.
The winner of the contest is entitled to take part in International Mister Leather 2012 to be held in Chicago as the entrant representing the ECMC. Expenses are to be covered by the contestant, by his sponsoring club or by any other sponsor he may find.
All the contestants of the Mister Leather Europe 2011 Contest authorise SLM Copenhagen and the ECMC to use their original official picture and all the pictures taken during the contest to be used with their names (or nicknames) on the SLM Copenhagen and ECMC websites and in press releases for newspapers, newsletters and magazines. This implies that all pictures and statements of the contestants will be used for free and under SLM Copenhagen authorisation and that the contestants will renounce any rights on such use.
